About: She generally had very little drive or ambition during college and went through her four years getting an English degree without particularly knowing why. She managed to scrape up enough drive to decide to study law and even had the grades to manage it, but after being rejected from the law schools she applied to, somehow wound up being cajoled by a friend to get a teaching credential. Again, without particularly knowing why, she did get that credential and was hired at her old high school, Madero Hills HS. Sera is a slightly grumpy person who lost what little ambition she had upon her law school rejections and doesn't put up with nonsense in her class, which scares the students a bit and gives way to trash-talking. Not that she's a bad person. Just a little burnt out is all.

Derek Ngo - English 4 College Prep, Honors/IB/AP

Hair: Black, but with a little early graying on the sides

About: Derek Ngo is the cheerful head of the English department at Madero Hills High School and, incidentally, was Sera's teacher when she was a student there way back when. He's quite considerate and is seldom seen without a smile on his face. Students generally like him, as he's quite a laid-back teacher.

About: A rather scrawny kid that has a sort of aura that exudes "emo." He thinks a little too hard about things, particularly things that make him sad, which, of course, exacerbates the problem and makes him even more sad about it. His friends have learned how to put up with him, and have even learned how to make him feel better. Great friends. He's into anime, manga when he can be bothered to actually read something, and video games. Oh, the video games. Unofficial king of Guilty Gear at Madero Hills HS (favorite character is Bridget. Uhh.). Seems to have problems with Super Smash Bros, though (his favorite being Link).
